Hill climb

Post by Marc » Fri Sep 28, 2018 12:02 pm

Matt Hennon from Inverclyde Velo got in contact and asked if I could spread the word about his hill climb event on the 21st October I plan on riding this it’s fairly short, Hopefully this will appeal to some of the Kom chasers within the club that are already very handy on the hills https://cyclingtimetrials.org.uk/race-

Myself and Peesi have both ridden the Lyle hillclimb in years gone by when it was a regular on the calendar. Should be a good event on a tough wee hill. There's plenty of skinny climbing snakes in the club that could get a good result.
I'll give it a miss though☺

Hill Climbs have to be one of the hardest races,as its all about pacing rather than speed.
short climbs make it tougher whereas longer ones you can settle into a rhythm,or a slow pace in my case.
i've entered britains longest hill climb race on the calendar,10.5 miles Tan Hill Climb next sunday. bit of a trek as always but hopefully that'll be another iconic race ticked off my list.
it finishes right at the entrance to the tan hill inn,the highest pub in britain, which would suit most loudoun riders but not teetotallers like me.
back in the day i've ridden hill climbs at gleniffer braes and sherrifmuir but dont think i've even cycled up lyle hill, and hopefully it will stay that way.
good luck to marc and any others riding

No done that one Digger. My advise is don't hold back on lower Lyle hill. Give it your all. The last bit is not too bad.😁
